Publication Ethics Statement

Tadayun: Jurnal Hukum Ekonomi Syariah is a peer-reviewed and open-access journal published by the Department of Sharia Economic Law, Faculty of Sharia, State Islamic University (UIN) Datokarama Palu, Indonesia. This statement describes the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

This publication ethics statement is based on the principles of transparency, academic integrity, and responsible scholarly publishing, and refers to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines.

Publication Ethics Guidelines

The publication of articles in Tadayun: Jurnal Hukum Ekonomi Syariah is part of the scholarly communication process. Published articles should reflect academic quality, originality, methodological clarity, and ethical responsibility. Therefore, all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher, are expected to follow the ethical standards of scholarly publishing. The Department of Sharia Economic Law, Faculty of Sharia, State Islamic University (UIN) Datokarama Palu, as the publisher, supports the journal in maintaining editorial independence, academic integrity, and ethical publication practices.

DUTIES OF AUTHORS

Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that the submitted manuscript is original and free from plagiarism. If authors use the work, ideas, words, data, or expressions of others, they must properly cite and acknowledge the original sources.

Data Accuracy, Fabrication, and Falsification: Authors must present accurate and reliable data in their manuscripts. Fabrication, falsification, manipulation, or misrepresentation of data, sources, findings, or research processes is unethical and unacceptable.

Duplicate, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication: Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time. Authors must also avoid duplicate or redundant publication, including publishing substantially similar content without proper justification and citation. If duplicate submission, redundant publication, or self-plagiarism is identified, the journal has the right to reject, withdraw, retract, or cancel the publication in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics policy.

Authorship and Contributorship: Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, data collection, analysis, interpretation, or writing of the manuscript; All individuals who have made significant contributions must be listed as co-authors. Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged in the acknowledgment section; The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript and have agreed to its submission for publication.

Acknowledgment of Sources: Authors must properly acknowledge all sources that have influenced the research. Relevant publications, regulations, legal documents, and scholarly works must be cited accurately.

Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, personal, or other conflicts of interest that may influence the research, interpretation, or publication of the manuscript. If there is no conflict of interest, authors should state that no conflict of interest exists.

Errors in Published Works: If authors discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must immediately notify the editor and cooperate with the journal to correct or retract the article when necessary.


DUTIES OF EDITORS

Publication Decisions: Editors of Tadayun: Jurnal Hukum Ekonomi Syariah are responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be published. Editorial decisions are based on the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, originality, academic quality, methodological soundness, ethical compliance, and contribution to the development of Sharia economic and business law, including its regulatory, institutional, practical, and societal dimensions. Editors may consult with other editors or peer reviewers before making a final decision. The decision may include acceptance, revision, or rejection, in accordance with the journal’s editorial policy.

Fair Evaluation: Editors evaluate manuscripts based on their intellectual and scholarly merit without discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, nationality, religious belief, political view, institutional affiliation, or any other personal background of the authors.

Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts. Information about a submitted manuscript may only be disclosed to the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial board members, and the publisher when necessary for the editorial process.

Conflict of Interest: Editors must not use unpublished materials disclosed in submitted manuscripts for their own research or personal advantage without written permission from the author. Editors must withdraw from handling manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest, including personal, academic, institutional, financial, or collaborative relationships with the authors; If a manuscript is submitted by an editor, editorial board member, or someone from the same institution as the editor, the manuscript must be handled by another editor who has no conflict of interest. The review process must remain independent and double-blind.


DUTIES OF REVIEWERS

Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and help authors improve the quality of their manuscripts through constructive comments and recommendations.

Promptness: Reviewers who feel unqualified to review a manuscript or are unable to complete the review within the required time should notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.

Confidentiality: All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, discuss, or use the manuscript or its contents for personal advantage without permission from the editor.

Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should provide clear, constructive, and evidence-based comments to support their recommendations.

Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors. Reviewers should also inform the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under review and other published works of which they are aware.

Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, personal, financial, institutional, or other relationships with the authors, companies, or institutions related to the manuscript.
